Rally Jamaica 2011 – rubber will destroy gravel!

Rally Jamaica is a celebration. It is a ceremony. It is a religion. It is a lifestyle. It represents a people.  Rally Jamaica appropriately titled, because it defines a sport within a nation which for years, maintained a dominant spot on the motorsports schedule. This year is special for reasons which will be hurled to the fore in the posts which will follow.

I was browsing through my collection and I glimpsed these.

Gary ‘the Colonel’ Gregg will be in the Building.

Jeffery Panton’s Ford Focus has changed hands, but he will be a part of the festivities, delivering his share of good cheer.

This was like a G20 summit for rally heavyweights.

The provisional list of competitors I have seen has several characters who are equipped with an innate ability to distort gravel and rearrange tarmac in an aggressive but purposeful manner, one which will generate an overwhelming appreciation from the thousands who will hit the stages. Rubber will destroy gravel – Rally Jamaica, December 2-4, 2011!
