February is a good month. No, erase that. February is an excellent month! I am possibly expressing the thoughts of Andrew ’2NR’ Palmer.
One year ago I had a simple question – Who owns the fastest, naturally aspirated, Honda Integra DC5 Type R (DC5R) in Kingston? To arrive at an appropriate answer, I went in search of ’2NR’. Rumor had it then, that he had one of, if not the fastest DC5-R in Kingston. He made his presentation in words and he defended his elevated claim with a spirited, but restricted blast through the gears, on an accomodating section of asphalt.
2NR
2NR’s machine, in my view, made a solid case for itself. So, honesty forced me to conclude that his machine was worthy of the admiration it commanded and it possessed the substance required, to successfully debate its superiority, when compared to other DC5-R’s in Kingston.
That was then. The blog relating to that investigative piece was posted on February 5th 2011. At the end of the blog I had this to say -”The debate will not end here and until 2NR grasps the requisite time slip (Jamwest) to confirm his machine’s credibility, the war of words will persist. But, there is no denying this – 2NR machine a run!”
The Heart of a Beast
The debate, as expected, continued without pause. Fast forward to a year later, Sunday the 26th of February. The DC5-R world has been irrevocably altered and Andrew ’2NR’ Palmer’s machine, sits alone, beyond the reach of all the other psuedo DC5-Rs.
At Jamwest Speedway, on Sunday the 26th, ’2NR’ defeated all the machines thrown at him. In claiming the class title, ’2NR’ earned the silverware, but he left with significantly more. When ’2NR’ drove out of Jamwest Speedway Sunday evening/night, he left with much deserved respect and a 1/4 mile time-slip bearing an enviable time – 13.1 seconds!
Machine!
Say whatever you want to about the brother, but if honesty is an acquaintance of yours, you cannot escape the obvious – 2NR machine a run!
Congrats 2NR, 13 seconds class champion!
