I have a confession to make – I did not realize that Rally Jamaica was only a few days away. During one of my many idle chat sessions, at the garage, a day or two ago, the topic was raised (Rally Jamaica) and it was at that time, that what was in the dark (at least to me), was suddenly illuminated. Fortunately, I have a lot of time to get a feel of what is happening to ascertain if the tempo is anything like what it was in previous years.
I read that some ‘foreign machines’ were chillin at Stewart’s, so after making a brief link with Chris ‘Teach’ McFarlane I was allowed to have a look at them. This is what I saw:
Machine 1.
We all know Teach’s machine.
Machine 2 (blue trunk).
Machine 3.
Machine 4.
It appears as if they are of a Trini origin, but one thing is certain, they are not here for Carnival. They are here for a mudslinging, water-splashing, asphalt-shredding, whale of a time! Are you an Evo fan? You should be rather excited now.
I glanced through the provisional entry list and if the WRC machines and their drivers will be in the building/ stages Saturday and Sunday, a wonderful time will be had by all the rally-heads who will brave sun, rain and mud, to watch the rally machines chase time and glory.
Panton
Jeffery Panton should be in the building in a proven and competitve machine, so I am a bit more than elated at what might be offered by our local maestro. Scrutineering is next on the cards – Thursday at Stewart’s (South Camp Rd). So guess who will be there?
