Ae86 Update: Every race-car needs a seat!

Author : cmunroe

October is only one cough and a sneeze away and for fans of motorsports, it is shaping up to be an interesting month. The calendar has identified events which will stimulate pleasurable sensations – stunt-bikes at the Palisadoes, drag-racing at Vernamfield and a circuit racing cliff-hanger at Dover. We would be greedy if we wanted more!

AE86

The AE86 build was moving with massive strides, but there was more work to be done.

Initially, I bought a Corbeau racing seat but somehow I preferred this one.

The seat was ‘naked’, so some amount of fabrication was necessary on the seat and in the AE86.

Victor Brown is not the easiest individual to work with, but you will never complain about the quality of the job he does – when he eventually does it!

He is at his best when he has to create something out of a piece or sheet of metal.

He completed his intricately designed metal pieces and what began as an eyesore (the interior) was now an appealing war-room!

The seat-belts, not shown in the photographs, were also installed. So, I could now sit and strap myself in and if the AE86 would allow it, I could hurl the machine in any corner with supreme confidence. Time will tell!
