Drag Racing: NDRC machines land at Vernamfield this Sunday!

Author : cmunroe

The jury is still deliberating, re events which raced at Jamwest Speedway, Westmoreland, last Sunday. The overseas machines were here and motivated by their mega-horsepower motors, they must have had a feeling of supreme confidence about their prospects along the 1320ft at Jamwest. But, Boys Scouts worldwide have a brief saying – Be prepared!

The debate relating to where the finger(s) should be pointed will continue until we hear the fireworks ringing in the new year! But for now, we all accept that the overseas machines, despite tireless effort from their pilots, did not deliver the heavily-advertised performance that was expected. The machines, by all reports and images seen, were indeed awesome, but they were slaughtered, some persons will tell you, by the temperamental conditions which exist at Jamwest (the track).

Truth be told, with adequate time to test, tune and dial in the machines, the expected elapsed times and performance would appear, but time is not always on our side.

Having said that, a machine which has had the benefit of testing, tuning and extended dialing in efforts, is now closer to where the crew wants it to be. There is a BadBreed Mustang awaiting its moment to shine and while the distressed and disappointed faces were taking shape at Jamwest, the BadBreed crew was engaged on the faithful concrete at Vernamfield, sealing a speed-deal! BadBreed at work!

The BadBreed Mustang and a pack of angry wolves ( race-cars)  will be at Vernamfield this Sunday, preaching from the pulpit and delivering the inspiring words of speed!

Machine!

The air will be laden with the pulsating sounds of launch-control, followed by the staccato intrusions of the ‘limiter’, as the quest to decrease time over a predetermined distance, continues. There will be one point of interest on the ‘Rock’, this Sunday! Do I need to repeat? Vernamfield, Clarendon! NDRC Drag Challenge # 3! (click below)
