Drag Racing: High Boost at Vernamfield on Sunday!

Author : cmunroe

Drag Challenge #1, the first event of the Nestle Supligen Drag Racing Series, which was held in March, was a resounding success from any vantage point you wish to choose. The competitors who were all hungry for 1320 action, removed the Christmas 2013 and New Year cobwebs from their machines and like children released at Emancipation Park, their reservoir of happiness breached its barriers and the addictive but pleasure-delivering energy found residence among the Reggae Sumfest-type crowd which was present at Vernamfield.

So overwhelming and intoxicating was the vibe at Vernamfield, in a bid to prevent the inevitable adrenalin overdose, the heavens intervened and delivered drought-quenching showers! As fans scurried towards the visible tents and their toll road-conquering machines, their faces wore the indelible marks of appreciation and satisfaction.

The drag racing event-promoting and executing bar was raised to stratospheric heights in March and on Sunday May 18, the NDRC will deliver another ace from its deck of drag racing cards!

But, before the main event, at Test and Tune on Saturday (May 10), the competitors were given the opportunity to sharpen their reaction times and tune their ‘freaky fast’ machines for this Sunday’s showdown. We passed through – Test and Tune

Interest is still in 6th gear. When we arrived 30+ machines were in the line awaiting their turn to lift clutch!

We build according to our power needs – this machine willingly embraces the – Boost is Best- lifestyle!

A word of advice – look out for this EG on race-day. BIG UP Charles and Biggy B!

What is wrong with this picture is what makes it right! At Test and Tune – one line- one time (e.t)! Brinn Morgan – the humble genius, chilling on his self-shifting rocket.

Machine went out – left the line when Verdayne gave the green light and despite the audible play with the throttle – several times – machine cruised to 8.3! Spoke to Brinn after the run “too much boost”!

Guess who was soaking up the brilliant sunshine? It was a day at the beach for the BadBreed Racecraft machine. When you are brave enough – show up son!

Interesting location for a boost gauge.

Boss – Mi no know wha happen! Mi a drive, good-good an mi jus hear WHOOOSH! Sun-roof blow out! Clive (Ready Racing) looks at what is left of the sun-roof – nothing! Yes Captain!

Blame it on laughing gas, it has that – bring out the kid in me – effect!

Apparently the scene at the ‘dyno’ on the Boulevard resembles Coronation market on a Saturday. Drag racers have pride at stake – We nah tek no chek! A high boost we seh! Vernamfield, this Sunday Drag Challenge #2!
