Drifting at Dover!

The 2014 motorsports calendar is bouncing off the limiter at present! The events are jostling at a pace which would stun the Buggatti Veyron! They are hitting us like a relentless Portmore mosquito! But guess what? We are loving every speed-induced moment.

Last weekend the drag racers roared through Vernamfield. The clearly marked 1320ft of indestructible concrete is still oozing tire smoke! The mayhem was brutal and sustained for the duration of the event. That story will be told, but Dover’s turn is rapidly approaching and a new era in Jamaican motorsports will lift clutch and blast towards corner 1 and that is where ecstasy will begin!

While at Drag Challenge #2, I met a delightful young lady, who confirmed that fans will be feted with the usual Spartacus-type bouts that the race-cars will engage in, but, they will also be the lucky winners of an all expense paid trip to the land now known as Adrenalin Overload!!

According to her, several machines from Thomas Jefferson’s land, will invade Dover and deliver Tsuchiya’s brand of driving novelties to our tropical paradise. We all know what drifting is, but can you recall seeing it being done by the real, hardcore – ‘tire, I have no mercy on you’ – insane, slide-way masters? I hear the no, loud and clear! This weekend we will all be lucky winners – Drifting at Dover? Mi a go deh now!!
