Ken Block is at it again – Gymkhana 7!

Please forgive me for my tardiness. Say what you want about Ken Block. He is constantly compared with drivers who participate in, for example, WRC, Formula D and D1. The debate will never end as it relates to the level of skill he wields when he rests his rear in a highly modified rocket-ship! He tried grabbing a gear or two in the past, in WRC and his critics will want to celebrate his lack of significant dominance in the Rounds he competed in. In the Red Bull Global Rallycross series he has found a home and his brand of motorized-mayhem is the main course on the menu!

But, Ken Block, has his own niche – a zone which he did not create, but introduced to the world in spectacular, ferocious, explosive and according to Jay- Z – violent – form. I am transported to scenes from one of my all-time, favorite movies – Pulp Fiction. Ken Block’s display of, to the untrained eye, reckless aggression, but, inherently ‘cool’, calculated execution of machine-placement, exiting claustrophobic spaces which would scare ants, with murderous assaults on an eager, rev-seeking accelerator, reminds me of Samuel Jackson’s character reciting potent scripture readings before felling his victim in a hail of bullets! As I said violent.

In typical Ken Block form – Gymkhana 7! Muscle-cars are back! I would love a heavily-massaged V8 ogre in my garage!

Ken Block assaults LA!
