Formula 1: Alonso brought to hospital after crash!

The 2015 Formula season is approaching the start-finish straight. Round 1 revs off in Australia in a few weeks (March 13-15) so pre-season testing is crucial. The first test-session at Jerez saw Ferrari signalling their commitment to restore the dominance they were once known for in the sport. Their machines and drivers were fast, but we will know in March if what we saw was a mirage.

Alonso

Former World Champion, Alonso, left the famous Italian marque and joined another former World Champion, Button, at McLaren. Honda has returned in full-forceĀ  to McLaren (McLaren Honda) and memories of the Senna era must serve as motivation to wring a few victories or strong performances from the once potent pair.

But, the script is subject to change and testing wears no kind heart. McLaren Honda, like other teams on the grid, has been forced to return to the drawing board as termites (gremlins) of a destructive nature harass their machine during testing. And on the 4th day of pre-season testing in Barcelona, McLaren Honda was on the receiving end of more misery.

Despite being at home, the Spaniard, Alonso was treated rather harshly. According to reports, prior to the midday break, while testing his new machine, Alonso crashed into a wall. He was brought to the on-track medical centre, afterwhich he was airlifted to the hospital.

Early indications suggest that he is conscious and as such we are not of the view that he is in a critical condition. We hope it remains that way!

Alonso, we expect to see you battling to the front in Melbourne!
