Formula 1: What next for Nico Rosberg?

Author : cmunroe

I did not watch the entire Texas GP. But what I watched and heard forced me to ask the question above. It is my view that Nico Rosberg lost both the psychological and the World Championship wars with Lewis Hamilton long ago – think 2014 season. But, honestly, knowing that he was driving a machine with similar firepower, I would look forward to him bringing the fight to Lewis.

My expectations, more often than not remain unrealised, which compels me to give thanks to the 2015 element of surprise – Vettel and Ferrari! What would F1 do without them this season?

The fire which propels the desire to succeed was extinguished eons ago and at each round, Rosberg’s wimp-like race approach and his appetite for unforced errors, provide ample footage to conduct a lecture – How To Lose a World Championship!

Lewis Hamilton

I have always maintained that I am a Lewis Hamilton fan. He does what the great drivers before him did to excel in the sport – they give nothing and take everything! But, I was still hoping that Rosberg would miraculously grow a pair and bring a bruising fight to Hamilton’s doorstep!

At the Texas GP, as soon as the red lights completed their fade-routine, Rosberg’s feeble posture surfaced. Rosberg is Iron-Man by himself – his pole-performance confirms this. But when Hamilton enters the room, a disappearing act ensues and the Ginger-Bread man appears! I watched, with dismay, as Hamilton, starting at P2, flexed his muscles, pushed Rosberg off-track and exited corner one ahead of Rosberg who was trapped and had to struggle to secure P4! I later learnt that he also demonstrated his dominance in the unforced error department which ultimately crowned Lewis Hamilton the 2015 World Champion!

Congratulations Lewis Hamilton! But – What next for Rosberg?

Should we read anything from this?
