RALLYSPORT: WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP 2016 – OVER BEFORE IT BEGINS?

I will always maintain that the drivers who occupy seats in WRC machines exist in an elite league. This is a league in which a driver/competitor, silently extracts his brain, leaves it in the motorhome and then jumps into his WRC machine. It requires no lengthy explanation. It is the only logical conclusion which can be arrived at after observing a machine blasting along a narrow gravel road, at the speed of sound, before it launches into a massive jump – rev-limiter screaming – then landing and disappearing ahead of a plume of dust and debris around another blistering right! Press repeat for 20 minutes!

Shock and awe reigns in Europe today. WRC machines will reside in launch-control settings before waging war with unsuspecting stages. But, I observed a rather disconcerting issue while perusing material revealing the preparedness of the various teams. I will watch, with keen interest, what unfolds this weekend. But, I must admit that I am seriously wondering if a foregone conclusion can be arrived at. What are your thoughts after watching this video?
