DRIFTING: MAD MIKE KEEPS MAZDA ALIVE!

A turtle dies and Vietnam mourns. Long ago we had nine planets, then they demoted Pluto. Now we are told, we might be back at nine! The world as we know it will continue to be an interesting place – never a dull moment!

The same can be said about motorsports. A dull moment is nowhere on the leader-board. And we know with certainty, unlike some of the more celebrated lab-coats (scientists), that it will remain that way. We can fight with a tireless spirit, like a 300 lb blue marlin at the end of a military grade fishing line, but it will be useless – embrace the electric race-car! The technology is being fine-tuned to guarantee that a petrol-filled, obese in the displacement department, internal combustion monster, will succumb to relentless pummeling from an innocuous electricity-driven feline – ask Tesla!

And if you are even remotely aware of the World Endurance Championship, you would have known that the ogres (the machines) which romp to 200+ mph with the blip of the Audi/Toyota/Porsche-derived accelerator pedal, are all aided and propelled by electricity-driven gizmos!

Technology exists to improve our lives and as such we do not anticipate the arrival of mundane teddy-bears on any track anytime soon. But, just in case you are wondering what lies ahead in 2016 I will ask Mad Mike to keep you informed with another of his Bellevue-bound creations!
