Circuit Racing: The ‘new look’ TA1

Motor racing and controversy are like conjoined twins, one doesn’t exist without the other! But, who would think that simply changing the external appearance of a race car- read color and livery – could evoke so much response.
The comments I have heard and read thus far have confirmed what I knew all along. King David Summerbell’s loyal subjects do not, for one second, believe that his race car belongs to him. On the contrary, they are a part of his kingdom and somehow that makes them part owners of his possessions.

I showed some friends the pictures I have of the ‘new car’ and it was as if I opened a tap which was connected to an express yourself well! Some welcomed the new look, a few thought the new look wasn’t as aggressive as the original AMS look and some were undecided.

However, they all agreed on one thing, the main sponsor’s visibility was important and as such they understood why the change was necessary. Do you think it is necessary to remind the few insurgents that the color/livery a race car carries has zero impact on speed and performance?
