CIRCUIT RACING: KYLE ‘SPEEDY’ GREGG – THE THREAT IS REAL!

It was all fun and games at the JRDC’s prize-giving function which was held at KIG’s facility on Monday evening. Possibly stimulated by the salubrious atmosphere which wrapped guests in an opulent trance while their eyes wrestled, trying to decide what to ogle – the gorgeous trophies, the even more delectable, dressed-to-annihilate ladies or the mouthwatering, charcoal Subaru WRX STI which created the perfect backdrop!

It was a challenge, but drivers, despite recognizing the significance of events which will unfold at Dover Raceway on Monday, chose humor. They all remained on the jovial side and more (smiling/grinning) teeth were visible than those which would be seen by a dentist in a week!

We, however, will not be misled by the prepared script. Kyle Gregg has acquired a new machine. He has one goal. And based on the conversation I had with him recently – the threat is real!

GleanerBlogs (GB) – Which machine will you be competing in at Dover in 2016?

KYLE – The Radical (Radical RXC V8)

GB – Why was this race-car chosen?

KYLE – The price was a major factor. It is proven worldwide and it is reliable.

GB – Have you started testing?

KYLE – Yes

GB – What is your best time thus far?

KYLE – 1:19.4  on old, medium compound tyres.

GB – How does the Radical compare to your other race-cars?

KYLE – [Laughter and youthful determination invades the room] There is no comparison!

GB – What has been your biggest challenge with the Radical thus far?

KYLE - I am still adjusting to driving a rear wheel drive race car.

GB – Will you break the track record?

KYLE - The plan is to run consistent times and see what happens.

GB – Should Doug Gore be concerned? Will you beat Doug Gore and his DTM Audi?

KYLE – Yeah, for sure, he should be concerned. The lap time speaks for itself! I am not going there (Dover) to lose!

GB – What is your goal for 2016?

KYLE – To be the Thundersport Champion!

GB - What should your fans expect in 2016?

KYLE – [Pause, purposeful stare] New Sheriff in town!
