DOUG ‘HOLLYWOOD’ GORE WILL NOT BE DEFEATED!

Breathtaking images of Montego Bay, Jamrock’s second city, I am certain, will appear in 3D with HD attachments whenever individuals seek Google’s clarification of the phrase – lap of luxury! When was the last time you visited the city that has celebrities in a queue, pining for the window of opportunity to appear so they can inhale rejuvenation, exhale stress and confront life fortified by feelings of invincibility!

Montego Bay delivers that experience! A city which has more iconic and exquisite spots than Bill Gates has dollars, yes, Montego Bay is not only a slice, it is paradise!

We do not need Anthony Bourdain and company to inform us about what makes Montego Bay unique and culturally relevant. We know! And we also know that Montegonians are fanatics where motorsport is concerned. It is a city which arguably has more ‘big drivers’ per sq. km than any other area on this same rock! And the King of their Hill, the current lap record holder at Dover Raceway, their ‘biggest’ driver of the current era – definitely their tallest – Doug ‘Hollywood’ Gore is being threatened by a rather daring, but ambitious upstart.

Montegoninans, based on what I know, will have none of it! And on Easter Monday they will be heard in blatantly vociferous tones urging their accomplished warrior to defend his honor and remind all present that their city retains the boss!

On Monday evening, at the KIG Showroom, the lad who seeks to climb the royal ladder did not conceal his intent. He was visible and his pronouncements reverberated throughout the room even in the absence of a microphone – Doug had the microphone. Doug switched gears, selected his ‘Hollywood’ demeanor and sidestepped the threats. But the easier said than done approaches and I wanted to know what Doug’s strategy was.

When asked what has been done to the Audi TT-R DTM in preparation for the Carnival of Speed, Doug led with his usual smile and chuckle and then provided startling, lap time-reducing revelations.

It is not easy being Doug Gore. His critics are numerous and his task to prove himself worthy of the respect his fans surround him with, knows no end. But he takes it in stride. When TA1 arrived, his dominance was displaced and when he acquired the DTM machine, there was widespread doubt that he could deliver on its potential. His 1:17.019 is a dagger which the surgeons have decided to leave in TA1′s heart!
