DRAG RACING : DRAG CHALLENGE # 2 – BOOST IS BEST? PART 1

Author : cmunroe

Years ago a 10 seconds machine was the benchmark by which all others were judged. Can you believe that 15 years have elapsed since The Fast And Furious invaded Carib 5. Do you remember the machines that assembled at Carib 5 to celebrate the release of the blockbuster which wrapped fast cars, fast fun and illegal street-racing into a palatable, adrenaline-charged dish? The good old King Midas days!

If the concrete at Vernamfield was consulted, some rather interesting tales of machines chasing speed would be told. The tales would return to years that only our colonial masters could recall! Vernamfield has seen it all and it would be more than elated to convey its cache to a reputable geologist!

But truth be told, the scenes which are directed by the NDRC at Vernamfield in recent time, are nothing short of extraordinary. Motivated by an inherent desire to excel or the hidden, supernatural Jamaican gene to pursue excellence, drag racers from both rural and urban environments distributed evenly across the solid ‘rock’,  have introduced a skyscraper’s bar of supreme speed and stupefying performance!

Be mindful of the surface that local drag racers wrestle with on any given Sunday – concrete! And when faced with all the challenges that the surface hurl at them, they like the Avengers, recalculate and deliver victory-induced mayhem! The e.t cant lie!

BADBREED RACECRAFT

Years ago Adrian McLymont’s Ford Mustang at its best would battle Mark Morgan’s – Datsun/Nissan Z-machine. Both machines fortified with force-fed V8s! Bucking, reckless, broncos – a relentless struggle to keep them along a straight path!

When all the roaring ceased beyond the finish line and the speed-blurred, distorted images regrouped, displaying crystal-clear clarity, the machines would be reduced to a harmless canter in the return lane – the celebrating crowd could be mistaken for a rioting mob!

That was then. Time, knowledge and technology formed a Commission. The Commission’s terms of reference were not disclosed, but orders were dispersed to drag racers and today we are witnessing the outcome of the courses they conducted. That is the only plausible explanation for what the NDRC has unearthed!

Evidence – Adrian has successfully distanced himself from individuals who thought they owned speed! The BadBreed Racecraft Mustang occupies rarefied air and spends more time competing against itself! Such is its prowess! Adrian sits in a rather rapid 8 seconds class – still rocking a Mustang!

Badbreed Racecraft chose boost, but they were not willing to settle for asthmatic boost pressure! Want to start a hurricane? The BadBreed machine’s turbo is being sought by meteorologists! The machine will be at Drag Challenge # 2 this Sunday!
