FORMULA 1: ROSBERG – POISED TO TAKE THE TITLE?

Author : cmunroe

There were many who thought that Nico Rosberg’s chance at securing the 2016 Drivers’ Championship was a lost cause after Lewis Hamilton’s rampage before the summer break. Lewis Hamilton is the reigning World Champion and it is a title he wears with elevated pride.

We are all fully aware that friendship is absent in the Mercedes garage and these two pugilists (Rosberg and Hamilton) will duel, without protective gear to the bitter, but rewarding end!

Hamilton rejected Rosberg’s early season surge, summoned a squad of victories, landed in the Penthouse suite and relaxed in the jacuzzi. But, in a blink, his lead, like bad investment funds, disappeared.

RICCIARDO

At the most recent GP, even the hate-Rosberg squad was forced to admit that his performance was evidence that he possesses regal aptitude. At his 200th F1 start, Rosberg selected superiority and distanced himself from the chasing minnows, Hamilton included. Ricciardo stirred some uneasy moments, but Rosberg’s armor was reinforced and impregnable.

At the Singapore GP, Rosberg claimed his 22nd F1 victory. He is leading by a rather emaciated margin of 8 points. There are 6 races remaining on the calendar. Would you put your money on Rosberg to win the 2016 title?

The Malaysian GP this weekend will be crucial!

Have you noticed that Rosberg has still not won a single race in which he has driven down and passed a race leader? Put my money on who?

  2. Paula says:

“chasing minnows, Hamilton included”? Seriously? You describe the reigning F1 Champ, as a minnow? LMAO.. Okay, you are clearly a Rosberg fan. All I can wonder though is why Hamilton is having so many “mechanical issues” lately. Its obvious that Mercedes has some saboteurs in the pit who do not want Hamilton to win. Its all good.

Welcome Norman! I am somewhat at a loss where your question is concerned. What would you say is a driver’s aim when he sits on the grid, more nervous than a presidential candidate before the final debate? I will assist – TO WIN!

When did it become necessary, especially in F1, to “drive down” and pass a race leader? Is this the same sport that arguably has more passing courtesy of pit-stops than on-track? Lol!

Your knowledge of the sport should remind you that F1 places a high premium on qualifying on pole. Do you know why?

The sport is what it is and to winners, however it is accomplished (within the rules), go titles/championships.
And I will add this – If Rosberg wins more races than Hamilton and continues to finish ahead of him (Hamilton) whether he drives and passes a race leader or not – Who do you think will win the championship?

In F1, like in other forms of motorsports – winning is what is important – not how you win!

It will be interesting to hear what you think about the Malaysian GP. I await your views! Lol. Thanks.

Hailings Paula! Repping the female perspective! Welcome. But why do we have to commence trading blows from Round 1? Lol.

In the blog, that is under your investigation – I wrote/typed these words – “Lewis Hamilton is the reigning World Champion and it is a title he wears with elevated pride” I continued elsewhere and added – Hamilton rejected Rosberg’s early season surge, summoned a squad of victories, landed in the Penthouse suite and relaxed in the jacuzzi”.

But because I referred to Hamilton as a minnow you dropped a bomb and I am now “a Rosberg fan”. Hilarious! For reasons we can debate at length, in the context of the Singapore GP, Hamilton had no answer for Rosberg’s pace. As such, in that race he was appropriately categorized.
He (Hamilton) spoke to his meagre performance in Singapore, prior to the Malaysian GP, when he stated words to the effect of his need to drive better. Did you read or hear his comments?

We all wonder why Hamilton is having so many mechanical issues. But, do you honestly think that the same team that won him the 2015 Championship, that even you – clearly a Hamilton fan – are proud of, is also the same team executing the sabotage?

Emotions obfuscating logic? Here is a question – When Hamilton wins – and he has a fair share thus far – where are the saboteurs? I await your response. Lol. Thanks.
