FORMULA 1 : MONACO GP – A CRUCIAL RACE FOR VETTEL

Author : cmunroe

The 2018 edition of Formula 1 is not revving in accordance with Ferrari’s grand design. At this time in 2017, Vettel was King of the Hill – leading the championship.

His start to the 2018 season showed promise, but we all knew that Mercedes would come out swinging in a jiffy. Defending World Champion, Lewis Hamilton has answered the call and is now performing at the level his fans expect. His lead is now 17 points.

SENNA

In 2017, at Senna’s playground – the Brazilian boasts half a dozen victories – Vettel’s red hot knife – Ferrari – slashed hapless butter. He grabbed P1 and delivered what eluded Ferrari since 2001.

His luck has been genetically altered. He is floundering, a tired fish displaced from water. With his nemesis chilling on a 17 points cushion, Vettel will enjoy no happy hour. It is far too early to read title implications, but a town crier is not necessary to inform his fans that the Monaco GP is a crucial race for Ferrari and Vettel!

Ricciardo has made a dramatic statement thus far- smashing the track record in FP. The wolves are out in numbers. They are hungry! Who will leave the indelible mark on the streets which have built legends?

Are you a betting man/woman? Will Lewis Hamilton extend his lead? Will Vettel guard the principality from Mercedes’ wrath? Should we expect Round 2 of Ricciardo vs Verstappen? Alonso? Bottas?

The Monaco GP, this weekend, should be what it usually is – a thriller!
