Jamwest
Didn’t make it to Jamwest on Sunday (4/7/2010 ), but based on reports, drag racers had a whale of a time as they manipulated the laws of Physics and distorted the assembled molecules on the 1320ft.I suggested in the build up article, that surprises should be expected in the various classes. As predicted, ground was broken by some racers as they built new foundations for personal achievements, as it relates to elapsed times.
Mention must be made of ‘Chaddi P’ (Toyota Starlet) who grabbed the 12 seconds trophy, Errol ( B13, SIMTECH) breaking into the rare air of the nine seconds class and also ‘Damage’ (Bay Wata Evo), who cracked the nine seconds barrier as well.
Hopefully, as the year progresses, more racers will continue to come out of the engine blocks and represent on track and the ‘old-timers’ will continue to do what they do best – rev ‘bad mind’ out of their machines!
Formula 1: The British Grand Prix
F1 takes its road show to McLaren’s backyard this weekend, the Silverstone circuit in Great Britain. With Vettel’s resurgence underway, confirmed when he won the most recent Grand Prix, on the streets of Valencia, McLaren would want to put their best wheels forward and establish their dominance with a McLaren 1-2.
The timesheets were not smiling with McLaren however and in what may be suggested be a humiliating outcome, Button was booted in Q2 and was excluded from the final round of qualifying. The chances of a McLaren 1-2 are far removed now, to say the least.
Red Bull Racing had all the wings their machines needed and they flew to the front of the grid, Vettel on pole, followed by Webber. Alonso sits close to the action in 3rd and with the petulant Lewis Hamilton in 4th, another epic race may be on the cards tomorrow.
