Last year’s race at Catalunya was magical, the story it told will be repeated for years to come. Fans witnessed a tempestuous battle between two teammates who had the same ambition – to be the best in the world. The moment in which they were caught, led to a scintillating spectacle, one which left motorcycle fans worldwide highly intoxicated after imbibing a MotoGP brew brimming with Rossi and Lorenzo shenanigans. Rossi snatched victory from Lorenzo’s clenched fist, by completing a pass on the final corner, of the last lap!

With Rossi out, recovering from injury and Lorenzo as sharp as a razor’s edge, raking in victories, only a man with a doctorate in insanity would bet against him (Lorenzo). One hundred thousand fans partied in Catalunya, as the MotoGP stars readied themselves for battle. Lorenzo, Stoner, DePuniet, Pedrosa and Spies completed the top five on the grid, but when the bikes roared away, Pedrosa got the hole shot, but lost it, when he out-braked himself.

Dovizioso

The scrap at the front was a permanent fixture of the race, as the five riders mentioned earlier fought for supremacy. Lorenzo countered the mutiny on his MotoGP ship, and brought stability to the front, as Dovizioso, Pedrosa and Stoner regrouped. Dovizioso tasted asphalt, crashed out on lap 14 and gave Lorenzo a breather. Lorenzo hugged the opportunity and opened up a considerable gap.

This time around, Lorenzo met the last lap comfortably in front and unveiled his glee, when he pulled a wheelie, as he crossed the finish line first, followed by his Assen partners in crime, Pedrosa and Stoner.
