FORMULA 1 : VETTEL STRIKES AGAIN?

Author : cmunroe

Ferrari dipped in it’s bag of tricks and pulled a masterful stroke in Singapore. Vettel won his first race in 2019, some argued, at Leclerc’s expense. Suffice it to say Leclerc was not pleased with the team.

Russia presented it’s own challenges. Mercedes AMG, typically flawless in Russia had the odds on their side. Leclerc was prepared though – P1!  Despite Leclerc being on pole, Ferrari hatched a plan to hurl Vettel to the lead then switch the positions later. Hmmmm.

Vettel had other plans. Vettel’s reluctance to play ball was obvious – it was embarrassing! Was Ferrari forced to change their race plan after Vettel’s non-compliance? Suffice it to say luck and possibly superior strategy favored the Mercedes AMG outfit. Hamilton stole Ferrari’s thunder and orchestrated a Mercedes 1-2! On a weekend when the Ferrari was a rocketship ,Mercedes AMG won.

Vettel’s dnf was possibly justice served, but, the damage was done. To what extent do you think Vettel was responsible for Ferrari’s self-destruction in Russia? Was Ferrari simply beaten or did they assist Mercedes AMG. Ferrari needs a Toto Wolff?
