Formula 1: Who will win the championship?

Author : cmunroe

Abu Dhabi has been entrusted with the honor of deciding whose name will become the race ending slogan, representing the best from a crop of excellent drivers. Bernie Ecclestone, it is said, brought wealth to F1 teams, but as remarkable as he is in the world of big business deals, even he could not manufacture the wealth of competition we have witnessed in the 2010 F1 season.

We are at the final race of the season and fans worldwide are preoccupied, their continuously expanding imaginations designing race strategies which will elevate their driver to P1.
There are 4 drivers still in with a shot at the title – Alonso (246pts.), Webber (238pts.), Vettel (231pts.) and Hamilton (222pts.). The new points system gives birth to innumerable outcomes which may favor 1 driver or another. The unknown and the what if, introduce a pleasurable prospect to Sunday’s race.

Red Bull Racing

Red Bull took the constructors’ title at the previous round and their 2 drivers are vying for the drivers’ championship. But unlike Ferrari, Red Bull refuses to employ team orders. This noble act may be the Achilles heel of Red Bull Racing. As the battle between teammates Webber and Vettel is waged, cancelling out each other, Alonso and his reliable F10 may smile, its 18,000 rpms resonating as they journey toward their final destination – 2010 Drivers’World Champion.

I am most grateful for the level at which the competitors operated throughout the season. It was thoroughly fulfilling to say the least. This weekend I am merely a fan. I will create a comfortable viewing environment, surround myself with refreshments and enjoy the 2010 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi GP, as it plays its role in crowning a champion.

Who do you think will win the championship?
