Dexterity series hits the dirt this Sunday

Every now and then Dean Corrodus sends me an e-mail re a motorsport event. I am always grateful because at times I am made aware of an event I heard nothing about.

When I opened the e-mail, I was met by a poster. At the top of the poster I saw – PUGU ENT. and BADDA BADDA RACEWAY presents …………………. I couldn’t help but think that we have untapped skills in the name creating department. We conjure up the most insane names. Who other than a Jamaican, would name someone Pugu and a raceway – Badda Badda. Lol.

Anyway, time waits on no man and when other series are at a pit stop, the 2011 JMMC National Dexterity Championship will hit the smooth, compressed dirt at Badda Badda Raceway, Priory, St. Ann, this Sunday (16th ).

According to Dean, several activities are planned. Dirt bikes, quads, cars and even nitro radio controlled cars are scheduled to sling dirt showers, as they blast around the raceway.

Alan Chen

This is the first of the seven events planned for the 2011 Dexterity Series and with the addition of a driver’s clinic, in which the more skillful drivers – read Alan Chen and company – will assist the new or weaker drivers, it is hoped that drivers will gain significantly from their participation in the events.

Like dance hall acts on a STING poster, several proven drivers (names) were thrown in the mix – Whittingham, Doug Gore and Richie Rich.

Dean stated that they (the organizers of the series) want ‘to get the ball rolling right away’. With the ‘name brand’ drivers from Mo’bay and Mandeville in attendance, I am certain, the wheels of especially, the rear wheel drive battalion, will be rolling, in dirt spiraling, smile-creating, crowd pleasing fashion.

Nb. Event begins at 10am – admission $500.
