The Spot Valley Entertainment complex will be bustling with activities tomorrow. Based on the entry list, more than 30 drivers will be jostling for class honours in a bid to prove their mettle on dirt. A quick perusal of the driver list should stir some interest and may even convince some persons to attend the event in St. James.
St James, or Montego Bay to be exact, has a reputation for producing drivers whose skill level surpass dizzying heights. A few names spring to mind but, I do not want to be labeled as biased so I will skip the name calling for now. Truth be told, you simply cannot discuss rallying, sprints or circuit racing without mentioning the notorious characters from the second city.
Stay focused. Spot Valley Raceway, Rose Hall, St. James will be the epicenter for tomorrow’s drama. If you enjoy rally cross, if you get your high from watching dirt being sent to the clouds as tires wrestle with the surface, then Sunday (30th) is your lucky day.
Chippy
I told you about the entry list. I did. You can expect to see Matthew Gore, Dean Corrodus, Daryl King, Marcus Barnes, Maurice Whittingham, Richie Rerrie and possibly the jewel in the crown, Christopher ‘Chippy’ Addison.
I will be biased now. ‘Chippy’ is one of those drivers who breathes a different blend of oxygen! If you are a ‘regular’ at Dover, you must have heard a ‘Chippy’ story of one form or another. It is often said that he has unmatched abilities. If you have never seen him in action, this is your chance.
