5 Tips on getting a deal at Bargain sales

Author : teriann

Just like everyone else, I love a bargain. In fact, I have been known to hunt far and wide for the best price. I have never made any secret of the fact that my days of shopping are numbered if the economy continues its slide.

However, being the eternal optimist I am determined to shop without breaking my budget. This includes buying items that have been previously owned and have been repossessed by stores.

So are you interested in being a bargain hunter?

In order to be successful at bargain shopping there are several things to bear in mind:

  • Be early. The best items go early so ensure you are there at the beginning of the sale.
  • Be prepared. Check out the price of the items you are purchasing so you can determine if you are really getting a deal.
  • Check the merchandise carefully. Sometimes the items are damaged only slightly but a thorough check makes sure you are aware of what you will have to spend money to fix.
  • Bring enough cash. Stick to your budget but there are times when you might discover an appliance you might never find at that price again so make sure you have enough to spend.
  • Bring along a friend. Asking the opinion of sales clerk is not always the best idea as their job is to ensure that you buy the product.

So ready to go bargain hunting?

Well there will be a Courts Bargain sale at their bargain centre locations such as on Young Street in Spanish Town and King Street in Kingston as well as nine other locations across the island. They have advertised a 50% slash in prices on repossessed furniture and appliances.

Happy bargain hunting!! Let me know how you enjoyed your shopping trip!
