Summer is officially here! It’s the time of year that parents dread as they have to entertain their children who are no longer in school. It’s hard to find enough activities to keep them occupied without denting their bank account. Some parents want to take their families to hotels or guest houses but the price for those accommodations are often out of their reach.
The good news is that a number of places offer discounts at this time of the year. This includes water parks, day passes for hotels and guest houses all across the island. In several media outlets I have seen hotels including all inclusive ones advertising huge savings and children up to 12 years old are allowed to stay for free with selected offers.
Some websites offer consumers the chance to examine several options of hotels and guesthouses summer packages. It allows consumers to see the best offers that are available on the dates they wish to stay. However, there are local rates that might not be displayed so it is a good idea to call and confirm the price before booking a summer get a way.
At times the deals advertised have hidden costs so this is another reason why it is essential to do the necessary checks.
Social Media can definitely be your best bet to spot deals. There are a number of advertisements that run on social media sites and persons have won items from movie tickets to plane tickets from liking and sharing selected content.
So ensure you are a member of an online community that offers a chance to win a prize that will make your summer brighter.
Of course, going to hotels is not the only way to enjoy your summer. If you are looking for family fun. There are farms and nature tours that you and your family will enjoy. These farms offer a wide range of outdoor activities and offer reduced rates for groups during the summer.
There are a number of activities geared toward family fun that are centred around our national celebrations. The culmination of those activities is Grand Gala and many families enjoy those festivities.
If you don’t want to spend any money at all and you are in Kingston, then why not plan an outdoor day? A trip to Devon House or Hope Gardens doesn’t require any funds and everyone will have a great time!
A lovely blanket with snacks or games is all you need to kick start the fun. Children really don’t need to a lot to have fun, the most important thing is to make memories and keep within the budget!
