Circuit Racing: Racing begins on Saturday at Dover!

The mind, it is said, is a powerful weapon. For reasons my inner state knew, I felt that I had to speak to someone at the JRDC office. Fortunately when I eventually rang their number, the ‘new’ assistant – Patrice answered the phone. I asked about the ASR’s for this weekends event. She told me that they were not ready as yet. I was not excited, but then she had a question of her own – Do you know that the drivers meeting is tonight? Er, no I responded, with a sense of abandonment.

Anyway, I collected my inquisitive self and a few ticks after 7pm, I steered the abused Mitsubishi Mirage in the direction of Liguanea Club for the meeting.

It was an atmosphere which saw few people in attendance but the new ‘Pressi’ was in the building – head table- center. To the paying patron, Dover promises to be a ‘wasssy’ affair and for the real afficionados, they will rejoice at will. In the drivers meeting, after a bit of arm-wrestling, it was agreed that a two day race schedule will be in effect for this racemeet. A two day schedule of races will serve the competitors well, for example, to remedy plague-type issues which will arise on race day.

So there you have it! Are you a competitor, are you a real F.A.N. of the sport. If you answered Yes! to any segment of my 2 part question above, Christmas is a bit early for you – 2 DAYS OF RACINGĀ  at Dover this weekend!

[In a Caucasian voice] – Be there or be square! Will I see you there?
