Dexterity: Sliding at the Palisadoes!

Author : cmunroe

Rallysport, once a vibrant, colorful,fun-filled activity, is dying a slow, painful death. The forensic experts are chilling, expecting the inevitable, sharpening their tools as they prepare for the autopsy!

But all is not lost, there is a band of rebels, determined to preserve what is left of the revolution. They refer to themselves as the Drivers’ Rallysport Club (DRC). So, in keeping with their stated mandate, the club landed at the Palisadoes Go-Kart track for Round 1 and Round 2 of their AutoDex Championship.

I passsed through.

Nismo Love – 1

Nismo Love -2.

1M in the building! Rear wheel drive + wet surface = FUN !!! Ask Duncan Stewart’s son, he had a good grasp of Bavaria’s finest.

BMW has gone the turbo route – small package but big power!

This word – uncanny – struck me like a sledgehammer on Saturday. I read earlier (Saturday), that the M3 was dead. The final, iconic machine, rolled off the assembly line recently. BMW fans worldwide are crying their asses off! I feel their pain. The M3 is one of my favourite all-time machines, but can I afford one? Hell no!

So – this is the uncanny part -I read that the machine was dead a few hours earlier and as I neared the Palisadoes track – guess what I saw? A M3! This particular one (below).

Give me the screaming, vulgar V8, all day, any day! A car I might never own was being hurled left and right, on wet asphalt, by a very fortunate youngster. Yes, it was slipping and sliding.Machine!

Lancer Girl read the riot act to the drivers!

Red Bull came prepared for the elements (the water),  in full amphibian guise, but, restrained by a chain-link fence, the machine resorted to providing musical selections.

Christopher ‘Teach’ McFarlane’s machine was present and was eligible for the – Best Weapon Brought to the Battle – category.

The turnout, on all levels, was small (spectators and competitors), but the effort must be applauded. Keep up the good fight DRC, rallysport needs you!
