Drag Challenge #1 – A lot was expected,but…..

When names/titles are being chosen for events, I would suggest that  great care should be taken in the process. You definitely do not want the event’s title to bite you in the a…

If the comments and the feed-back fans of the sport are providing are even close to accurate, it would appear as if Drag Challenge #1, for myriad reasons, posed countless CHALLENGEs for the organizers.

Is it that the necessary homework was not done? Is it that the NDRC has been out of the ‘game’ for an extended stretch and as such has lost touch of what is required to stage a successful drag racing event? Or is it the case that, the unprofessional third world approach, immersed well-intentioned organizers in a pool of mediocrity which resulted in a sea of chaos flooding the holy concrete last Sunday.

The jury is still deliberating re what transpired at Vernamfield on Sunday July 28. Like wealth from Jamaican families, events disappeared from the location, so when an official event appeared on the horizon, the welcoming arms were as wide as the Fluffy Diva’s waistline! To say that much was expected, would be the understatement of the year, but as fate would have it, it would appear as if not much was delivered.

What is obvious though, is the demand for the product –Vernamfield had a packed house! Drag racing has a clearly defined, loyal market, but, the sport is also yearning for a professional, respectful approach to the promoting and execution of events.

The machines did roll out, too much of them did, apparently.

Little T’s machine

The event would not be complete without an EG!

North-coast machine – FFAASSTT!!

Nismo – 2

Even Subbys need love!

Look and weep – this machine NO NORMAL!!

Westside flavor – Westmoreland – Windsor Young – Yu large!

‘Damage’ in the building!

Who do you think won?

Classic Fast and Furious pic – Give me any of the 2 machines! I will not submit my question to the lawyer first – Asafa – Why run when you can drive a GTR?

NDRC, a much better effort MUST be delivered next time! Incidentally, Drivers Meeting for the event at Dover this weekend, should have concluded by now. JRDC vs NDRC, let us see who has a more successful weekend (in terms of value for money delivered)!
