Chris-John Addison will be at Jamwest August 2,2015!

Heard it from the grape, not the vine, “Please note that qualifying and all races will be run on Sunday August 2nd”. So, the event which was initially scheduled to be 48 hours of Nissan GTR fast-paced circuit racing activities, has been altered somewhat to a single day of frantic, competitive and thoroughly entertaining wheel to wheel, fender to fender and even lug nuts colliding, circuit racing action!

Have you ever allowed yourself to be immersed in one of those suspense-laden concoctions which exit Hollywood’s huge gates? The experience at Jamwest Speedway, August 2nd, will be something like that, but moving at a neck-snapping speed as your eyes attempt to identify and track your chosen machine as it rockets to corner one like a famished Doberman chasing a nonchalantly discarded steak!

The list of drivers who will be in Little London should please the most demanding circuit racing fan. We should always aim to encourage, promote and recognise the efforts of new talent when they grab the steering, shed fear and propelled by youthful exuberance, wield an intimidating battle axe as they chop their way to the front of an experienced pack! The building (Jamwest) will have at least two on August 2nd – one will be revealed now!

‘Chippy’ Addison

This driver needs no introduction to western Jamaica because he is the product of an individual who some will argue was two races away from being recognised as a Jamaican race-car icon! Who am I talking about? What do you know about ‘Chippy’ Addison?

If you stop at a bar anywhere in Mobay you might hear multiple stories about the magic wand he had, which when utilised, transformed the minute, mild mannered, unassuming gentleman into a cruel, sadistic, dictator whose only concern was to secure victory on the track! He would callously dismember competitors relegating them to ‘also ran’ with his highly-tuned skill-set!

Chris-John Addison has accepted the baton. He is Chippy’s son and if you watch him driving you will wonder if the magic wand is still at work! Apparently the family motto is – Win or nothing! He is popular at dexterity events and he is an an emerging force in rallysport. He extended his repertoire when he competed at Dover at the Carnival of Speed. How did he perform? Remember the motto – Win or nothing! He needed a huge net to haul in all the points he accumulated!

AE86 at work in the orchard!

Machine!

Chris-John will use a Toyota Corolla AE86 with an adequate motor to argue that power is definitely not everything! I can assure you, you want to see him at work! Emancipation of Speed – August 2nd – Jamwest Speedway!
