While engrossed in the rather arduous activity of channel surfing, my exhausted fingers unveiled CARIB (FLOW channel – 186) and the program title – HONDA RACING AT SPEED. And as the name suggested, the half hour was dedicated to nothing but Honda racing exploits worldwide! Enjoy.

So, the Stewards conducted an investigation which led to a report being produced. We will all agree without heated debate that David Summerbell’s actions, on the track, led to that which we witnessed. Do we agree? Yes. And then I read the report.

The Stewards’ report completed and submitted under professional cover outlined – Findings, Penalties and Recommendations. I read that which was produced. In the report the Stewards stated the following :

1. Note is made of the fact that this was not the first race where cars approaching the Start Line accelerated early. In those cases, the Starter allowed the race to proceed.

2. While the Starter may have allowed  Race Start(s) under questionable circumstances, for all drivers contravening the start procedure and accelerating early, where identifiable, it is recommended that a Warning be issued.

When, during the course of the investigation, #1 and #2 outlined above were unearthed, did anyone recognize their humongous significance? Did I read evidence which exonerated ALL drivers?
