It was stated earlier. D-day approaches. Drag rivals sit at the ‘tree’ awaiting the flashing instructions and dependent on reaction time, mayhem will, like the Jamaican flag, unfurl with unbridled pride!

Drag racers are not a patient bunch of speed-insurgents. Truth be told they are happiest when fuel is forced into an explosion by the spark and air duo. But guess what? The wait is over.

At Jamwest Motorsports Adventure Park this weekend, internal combustion beasts will be subjected to the duress they were designed to undertake. Our history is colorful and we have been known to ascend heights which our diminutive stature should not allow.

Drag racers are fruits of the same tropical, prosperous seed and as such, at Jamwest, it will not be surprising if machines, innocuous – in appearance- but savage in application, defy the odds and exhibit blistering cash-claiming speed!

Drag racers are now in the final stages of preparation for what promises to be a battle of CP pistons, connecting rods and every carefully assembled fabric of money-well-spent motors.

The off season has ended. Drag racing 2018 will commence with joyous alacrity in Little London – Saturday April 28 and Sunday April 29.

All indicators express the view that the best from East, West, North and South will roll out and represent. The speed spectacle will, like a flower in bloom, unfold and caress Westmoreland’s pristine air with nitrous-filled lips!
