Motorsports fans, are at present, riding a joyous, but frantic wave. Their grin is Joker-wide! Lol! Drag Rivals 4 was touted as a mouth-watering speed-fest. DR-4 honored the demanding expectations and despite a weather-led intervention, fans left Jamwest graciously satisfied for the weapons of divine speed that pulverized the 1320!

Jaw-dropping moments were innumerable. A video of a  Toyota Mark X assaulting and ultimately slaughtering a DC5 R has surpassed viral status! Drag racing did the spectacular on Sunday. Mr Bardowell – ‘Buju’ – improved his repertoire with that which the King of the jungle seeks – a rip-roaring 8 seconds pass! Buju’s AWD projectile justified the cost of admission.

This weekend, we transition from the straight and narrow two lanes at Jamwest, to the complex network of challenging corners and pedal to the metal straight sections which comprise Dover Raceway. But, a prominent but has jumped to the fore. For multiple reasons, one driver has reigned almost unchallenged at the top of Dover’s food chain for at least 2 consecutive seasons.

Except for a LueBoyz-led intervention, Kyle ‘Speedy’ Gregg has distanced himself from his peers and he routinely romps to victory, almost nonchalantly, at each Round.

It is accepted that if Kyle’s Radical remains gremlin-free throughout the race, victory is more certain than ‘bun’ in a Jamaican relationship! Apparently, seeds designed to initiate riot and revolt, which were dispersed among circuit racing stakeholders (drivers/competitors), have grown immensely and at the Heroes of Speed event, which will be held on Monday, October 21st, the Kyle Gregg-defeating fruits will appear! Fantasy or reality?

Irrefutable evidence of the impending revolution is readily available. I spoke to Doug ‘Hollywood’ Gore. A world renowned European outfit is currently on ‘The Rock’ rectifying all that ailed the BEAST. The overseas-based team will also be at Dover Raceway on October 21st. How will the Beast perform? Will the Beast perform? Reputations are on the line? Will heads roll if it does not perform?

To outline the dire straits which exist, retirement, rest and relaxation are being ditched for Dover-duties – to halt Kyle’s dominance? Peter ‘Zoom Zoom’ Rae will be back in the building ? We will see! Footage is also being circulated of a distinct, green Mazda RX 7 going through it’s paces.

Will it be a factor in the revolt? Who will drive the RX7? If Peter ‘Bull’ Thompson is present at Dover on Monday and the machine sidesteps its recent propensity for unreliability, Kyle ‘Speedy’ Gregg will have a genuine Mike Tyson-era type bout on his hands!

All of the available sequential forward gears indicate that there is a real possibility that Kyle will be soundly beaten on Heroes Day (Monday). The LueBoyz, according to reports, will, on Heroes Day, fire several more missiles at Kyle’s fighter-jet. Will they be successful?

Some have already crowned Kyle ‘Speedy’ Gregg the new King, but one has to be cautious. There is absolutely no doubt that Kyle is now the dominant prey, but the absence of a robust grid of competitors has created a red carpet affair for Kyle. We yearn for days when the Thundersport classes will bulge with audacious machines, the visible manifestations from the appropriately warped minds of individuals who are tirelessly committed to the pursuit of enthralling speed. We may see that on Monday!

Doug ‘Hollywood’ Gore, Peter ‘Zoom Zoom’ Rae, the LueBoyz and Peter ‘Bull’ Thompson will all be in the building on Heroes Day? If that is the case would you agree that Kyle ‘Speedy’ Gregg will be soundly beaten? A rather valid question remains though – Which hero will defeat Kyle ‘Speedy’ Gregg?

Heroes of Speed – Monday – October 21 – Dover Raceway!

Will you be there?
