EARTHQUAKES
DUCK – COVER – HOLD. Proceed to a safe area – wide open spaces – after the shaking has stopped! Your response to an earthquake may be the difference between being alive and being………..!
St Ann drag racers were prominent in the build up to Drag Rivals – World War III – held on Sunday, at Jamwest Speedway. And by all accounts, St Ann’s bad machines did not disappoint. But, fans also got lucky. They got more that they paid for.
WAYLON
The cliche – Built not Bought took a slight twist at D.R. World War III – Built vs Bought! When did this happen? It was an only a ninja can kill a ninja moment when 2 of St Ann’s advocates of speed faced-off. Waylon Simmonds is on the rise. Waylon – propelled by a Spoon-built machine – is now a permanent fixture in the holy grail – 10 seconds club. Built-machine!
GLENROY
Glenroy Allen is a no no nonsense purveyor of speed. Glenroy’s weapon of choice is Godzilla. No, not the gorilla. Glenroy’s machine sits atop the Japanese food chain (we can debate about that). Glenroy pilots a R35 GTR. Bought-machine!
Glenroy, possibly misled by his gigantic ego, issued a bold, but veiled threat. Waylon did not appear perturbed. His response was laden with a concealed smirk. Glenroy’s guffaw revealed elevated confidence.
But, what do they say about motorsport?
WAYLON SIMMONDS VS GLENROY ALLEN- BUILT VS BOUGHT !
Pressured by the implications of losing to Glenroy – when the machine hesitated out of the blocks - Waylon recalculated and flat-foot-shifted the machine throughout the 1320! Victory in Waylon’s mind, for his sanity to remain intact, was a foregone conclusion! Machine!
We await the rematch!
